The can mockup wraps your label design around a drink can and gives you a PNG or JPG image you can use to show your product. It runs in your browser, has no sign-up, and has no paid option. The can is drawn with a metal body, a shoulder, a neck and a lid with a ring-pull tab, and a soft shadow falls to the right. You can choose from three can sizes, show one, two or three cans, and set how the label wraps. A sample art design is loaded when the page opens, so you can see how it looks before you upload your own artwork.

How to use the Can mockup

  1. In the ‘Can label design’ slot, click ‘Upload your design’, drop a file on the box, or paste an image. You can also use a sample button or type text in the text box. The label covers the whole painted body of the can.
  2. If your artwork has a white background you want removed, turn on the ‘Remove white background’ switch so near-white pixels become transparent.
  3. Under ‘Can size’, choose Standard 12 oz (the default), Tall 16 oz or Slim 8.4 oz.
  4. Under ‘Layout’, choose One can (the default), Two cans or Three cans. All cans carry the same label.
  5. Under ‘Label wrap’, choose Front panel (the default), Wraps around (wide) or Wraps all the way round.
  6. Under ‘Can colour’, pick the colour that shows where the design is transparent. Aluminium is the default.
  7. Under ‘Background’, pick one of the scenes. Studio white is the default.
  8. Under ‘Download size’, choose Standard (1600 × 1200 px) or Large (2400 × 1800 px). Then click ‘Download PNG’ or ‘Download JPG’.

Your settings are kept in the page address, so a copied link reopens the same view. The same settings always produce the same picture, so you can rebuild an image later by using the same link.

What size should the can label design be

Use a design whose proportions match the can. For the front panel, a square design (1 : 1) fits the standard can, about 3 : 4 fits the tall can, and about 7 : 10 fits the slim can. For example, 1200 × 1200 px works well for the standard can.

The label fills its area with a cover fit. This means a design with the wrong proportions is cropped, not stretched, so keep the important parts of your artwork near the centre.

What can sizes does the mockup have

The mockup has three sizes: Standard 12 oz, Tall 16 oz and Slim 8.4 oz. The ounces are the usual fill sizes for these cans. Each one is drawn with a height to diameter ratio of about 1.85, 2.35 and 2.55 respectively.

The tool does not claim exact millimetre dimensions. If a printer needs exact measurements, check them with the can maker before you print.

Can I show the label wrapping around the can

Yes. The ‘Label wrap’ option controls how far the design travels around the body.

  • Front panel shows the whole design across the front half-turn.
  • Wraps around (wide) spreads the design over about three-quarters of the circumference, so the edges curve away from the viewer.
  • Wraps all the way round spreads the design over the full circumference, so only the middle half is visible from the front.

The shoulder narrows smoothly to the neck, and the neck and lid stay bare aluminium. The colour you choose only shows where the design is transparent and on the shoulder.

How should I prepare the can label artwork

Export the label as a flat PNG or JPG. A transparent PNG lets the can colour show through, which suits a logo that should look printed straight onto the metal. Keep the key content, such as the product name and logo, in the middle of the design so it reads from the front. With Wraps all the way round, only the middle half of the design is visible from the front, so put the main artwork there and use the sides for background or repeating pattern.

The label covers the whole painted body of the can, from the base to the shoulder, so do not leave a blank band at the top or bottom unless you want the can colour to show there.

Frequently asked questions

Is this can mockup free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no paid option.

Can I use the mockup commercially?

Yes. You can use the images you download here to show and sell your own designs and products — in shop listings, ads, social posts and portfolios — with no credit required. You may not resell the blank scenes themselves as mockup templates or use them to run a similar service; see the terms.

Is my design file uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs in the browser, and the design file is never uploaded.

Which file types can I upload?

Each design slot accepts PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or SVG files.

Is the scene a photo?

No. The can, its shadow and the background are drawn by code in your browser, so there is no stock photo involved and the same settings always give the same picture.

Does the can colour change the label?

No. The Can colour only shows where there is no design, under transparent parts of the design and on the shoulder, and the label itself is drawn exactly as you uploaded it. A solid, opaque design hides the can colour on the body completely.

Do I need to install anything or create an account?

No. The tool runs in your browser tab, so there is nothing to install and no account to create. Open the page, add your design and download the result.
