White Shirt Mockup
Place your design on a white t-shirt photo, flat or on a hanger, and download it.
This free white shirt mockup tool places your design on a photo of a white t-shirt, so you can see how a print will look before you order it. It runs in your browser tab, and there is no sign-up. Your design file is never uploaded.
Upload a PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or SVG file, then move, size and rotate the design until it sits where you want it. You can also change the shirt colour, choosing from white, black and a range of other swatches or your own colour. When the result looks right, download it as a PNG or JPG image.
The shirt is white by default. The tool keeps the folds and shadows of the photo, so the print looks like it sits on real fabric.

How to use the White Shirt Mockup Tool
- Add your design. Click “Upload your design” and choose a file, or drop a file on the box or paste an image. To try the tool first, click “Sample logo”, “Sample wordmark” or “Sample art”, or type words into “Or type text”.
- Check the background. The “Remove white background” switch turns on by itself when an uploaded picture has a plain white background and no transparency. It makes near-white pixels transparent. You can switch it on or off yourself.
- Choose a photo. Pick “Flat lay, cool grey” (the default), “Flat lay”, “On a hanger” or “Flat lay, 2048 px”.
- Choose a colour. Click a swatch from White (the default) to Sky blue, or use the custom colour picker.
- Place the design. Adjust “Design size” (20–150 %, default 90 %; 100 % fits the design to the print area). Then use “Move up / down” (−40 to 70 %), “Move left / right” (−40 to 40 %) and “Rotate” (−45° to 45°).
- Download. Click “Download PNG” or “Download JPG”. The image is saved at 1024 × 1024 px, or 2048 × 2048 px for the “Flat lay, 2048 px” photo.
The settings are kept in the page address, so a copied link reopens the same colour, photo and placement. The link does not contain your design file, so send the downloaded image if you want someone else to see the design.
How to make a white shirt mockup
A white shirt mockup places your design over a photo of a blank white t-shirt, sized and positioned to match the print area, so the result looks like a printed garment. Start with a clean design file, ideally a PNG with a transparent background, then fit it to the shirt and save the image.
Set the size first. At 100 %, the design fills the print area, which is how a real print is laid out. The default of 90 % leaves a little space around the edge. Then move the design up or down and rotate it slightly if needed, so it sits centred on the chest.
Real prints do not lie flat, so the tool does not redraw your design. It moves the design by at most about 3 px along the large folds of the photo and shades it with the fabric, so the print appears to follow the cloth. A transparent background gives the cleanest result, because no box of background colour surrounds your art.
Why does white disappear on a white shirt
White disappears on a white shirt because there is no contrast between the ink and the fabric. On white fabric, the design is multiplied with the fabric. White ink multiplied with white fabric gives white again, so white and very pale parts of a design blend into the shirt. This is the same effect you would see with a real print on white cotton.
Darker and stronger colours stay visible because they change the white beneath them. The folds and knit of the fabric also show through the ink, which is why a print on white cotton looks like part of the garment.
On coloured or dark fabric, the design is printed as an opaque layer, like ink on a white underbase. Light colours work well there. For a light shirt, avoid relying on white areas in the design. For a dark shirt, use light colours.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes. The tool is free, and there is no sign-up. There is no paid option.
Is my design uploaded?
No. The mockup is made in your browser tab, and the design file is never uploaded anywhere. Your design stays on your device while you work.
Can I use it commercially?
Yes. You may use the downloaded images to show and sell your own designs and products, including in shop listings, ads, social posts and portfolios, with no credit required. The blank photos themselves may not be resold as mockup templates.
What size is the download?
The PNG or JPG is saved at 1024 × 1024 px. If you choose the “Flat lay, 2048 px” photo, the download is 2048 × 2048 px.
Can I show the shirt on a hanger?
Yes. Choose “On a hanger” under Photo. The print area is smaller on that photo because the shirt is shown smaller, but the same size and position sliders apply.
Will my colours look the same on the printed shirt?
Close, but not exactly: screens and printers show colour differently, and inks on cotton look slightly softer than on screen. Use the mockup to judge placement and contrast, and ask your printer for a sample if exact colour matters.
